Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
Anthony Hansen Counselling would like to emphasise that your privacy and the information that you provide is protected at all times. This service adheres to strict guidelines for professional conduct, in line with the Australian Association of Social Worker (AASW) Code of Ethics.
All interactions that take place in Anthony Hansen Counselling are considered confidential. This includes discussions by Zoom, Skype, telephone and email, any scheduling or appointment notes, all session content records, and any progress notes taken during sessions.
Your personal information is gathered as part of your assessment and treatment. All of this is kept securely and, in the interests of your privacy. You will need to provide written consent before any personal information can be disclosed to any person or agency.
Limits to confidentiality:
All personal information gathered during the provision of Anthony Hansen Counselling will remain confidential except when:

It is subpoenaed by a court; or

Failure to disclose the information would in the reasonable belief place you or another person at serious risk to life, health or safety;

Your prior approval has been obtained to (a) provide a written report to another professional or agency (e.g. GP, school or a lawyer), (b) discuss the material with another person (e.g. a parent, employer or health provider), or (c) disclose the information in another way; or
-
Disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law.
